About Falkirk

A Brief History of Falkirk

Falkirk has a rich and coloured history. Two major battles were fought here; William Wallace was defeated by King Edward in the Battle of Falkirk in 1298, and General Henry Hawley was defeated by the Jacobites in 1746.
